Advanced Print Technology
The VersaEXPRESS RF-640 is equipped with a gold-plated print head to reduce static and enable high quality imaging. Variable dot control produces droplets of seven different sizes for precise, detailed graphics, excellent photographic reproduction, smooth gradations and superb contrast. Roland Intelligent Pass Control precisely controls dot placement between passes, allowing the VersaEXPRESS RF-640 printer to produce smooth gradations, exceptional solid colors and optimal image quality in all print modes, including higher speeds.

Mirrored Print Head Configuration

To ensure rich, consistent color at speeds of up to 521 square feet per hour, the RF-640 features a dual CMYK, mirrored print head (MYCKKCYM) that delivers rich, vibrant, consistent colors during bi-directional printing.

User-Friendly Features Boost Your Productivity

The RF-640 is ideal for any busy shop environment. Front-loading ink cartridges can be replaced without having to stop and restart the printer. Adjustable media support brackets handle narrow or wide media rolls with ease, while an included take-up system allows for unattended printing with stability at high-speeds. The innovative Roland Ink Switching System allows the printer to automatically switch to a new ink cartridge when the original runs out, providing up to 880 ml of ink per color.

For trouble-free unattended printing, Roland OnSupport delivers e-mail alerts to your computer or smart phone when ink is running low or a job has been completed. The Roland Printer Assist app – free and available for download from the iTunes App Store – enables users to manage common printer functions such as power on/off, test printing and cleaning using an iPad tablet remotely from within the printer network.

Please note: Considering that you will be using software such as Illustrator, we recommend that you use as high performance computer as possible to reduce RIP processing time. We also recommend using a hard disk that has large enough capacity, as print files are often tens of GB in size (or larger) when data is high resolution.

1. The media holder of this machine is exclusively for media with a paper tube core inner diameter of 3 inches. To use a 2 inch media core, please use the optionally available media flanges.
2. The length of printing is subject to the limitations of the program.
3. Using Roland specified media, loaded correctly, temperature: 25 ºC (77ºF), humidity: 50 %RH, all pinch rollers are used, 25 mm or more for both right and left margins and 35 mm or more front margin, excluding expansion or contraction of the media, and assuming all correction and adjustment functions of this machine have been made properly. Not assured when the print heater or dryer is used.
4. Using Roland specified media, print travel of 1m.
5. Warm-up is required after power-up. This may require 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the operating environment. The preset temperature may fail to be reached depending on the ambient temperature and media width.
